A Beginner's Guide To Gold Farming in Clash Of Clans

What is gold farming in Clash of Clans?

Essentially, gold farming is taking on weaker opponents to access gold and resources quicker in the game.

It's self explanatory that gold and resources are very important in any game and Clash of Clans is no exception. Getting ahold of gold and resources can be done in the traditional fashion of using the environment and taking on players of equal strength and skill. But to get the gold and resources quicker many players opt to “farm” it from other weaker players. This is done by constantly battling weaker opponents and getting their gold and resources. It's more efficient and can potentially earn you more gold because the opponents you face should be weaker and easier to defeat. This means after beating an opponent you can keep beating other weak opponents and their gold is yours.

How is it done?

Trophies or cups are earned through winning various multiplayer battles in Clash of Clans. After getting a certain number of trophies you earn status and reputation in the game. There is a match making system in the game which pairs you off with opponents who have a similar or close amount of trophies as you. Because the trophies are earned through multiplayer successful battles it's clear that many low-level weak players have fewer trophies. Battling a good number of these opponents guarantees a potential farm of gold for you. So how do you face them?

Simply lower or drop your trophies to their number of trophies. How is this done? Simply find a match, drop an archer or barbarian and end the match. Dropping matches like this will have you dropping trohies as well. From there it's easy to find low- level opponents with a few trophies as well to get their gold and resources.

It's true that trophies let you go up in rank. And initially, there are rewards to be reaped this way. But once you've reached a high rank, there's really not much to gain but mere prestige. If you've gotten the 1250-trophy level, by all accounts, you've probably gotten the 450 gem reward as well. After that, there's really not much reason to keep those cups or trophies. So once you reach that trophy level drop the trophies to face all the weaker bases and earn the windfall. Keeping the trophy count under 200 this way is also the common techique of a lot of players.

Also keep a handful of goblins for maximum efficiency of your gold farming. They're one of the cheapest troops to produce and between 20-40 of them can raid and loot a badly protected village. As much as 30k of gold can be looted from a weak village this way.

Is gold farming essentially bullying weaker players? Of course it is. Is it a rewarding method to earn gold and other resources in the game? Definitely. If you want to take the easy way out, you can also hack Clash of Clans with the free gem hack. And that's really the best reason why it should be done.
